Shri Navchetan Andhjan Mandal was established on October 31, 1976 with an aim to provide help and support only to the Visually Impaired. Subsequently in the year 2003 due to the massive earthquake in 2001. Even senior citizens who had lost their children were also included. Further in the year 1997 Children with Visually Impaired, Hearing Impaired, Mentally Retarded and the Orthopedic Handicapped were provided education, access to medical care, vocational training, rehabilitation and employment.
Our organization depends on charity to carry out its day to day activities. In our institute disabled Children of all castes, community, religion and belief our admitted. We educate the disabled children for optimal development and provide professional and vocational training with the aim to enable them to earn their livelihood.
Our organization has been assigned the Implementing Agency for the Government‘s programme -of Integrated Education of the Disabled at Secondary Stage (IEDSS) in 9 Talukas of Kachchh-District.The main aim and Objective of this programme is to provide assistance to the disabled children in classes IX to XII in an inclusive and enabling environment and support the training of normal school teachers to meet the needs of children with disabilities at the secondary level.
Shri Navchetan Andhjan Mandal with the help of the Car Education Trust-U.K., and the Vascroft Foundation- U.K. and other donors, run integrated primary schools separately for boys & girls and a co-educational integrated higher secondary school. We also run an Industrial Training centre for teaching two trades viz. Computer Operation and Cutting &Tailoring. The organization has hostel facilities for 240 boys and 160 girls. Three physiotherapy centers (Bhachau & Madhapar), Library (Braille and Normal), Computerized Braille press and other Ancillary facilities are provided to support these activities at Madhapar(Bhuj)
An old age home for the disabled and normal Senior Citizen is run at Bhachau.
We provide all our above services free. None of the children/aged has to pay us.
